Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
1. Authorship Criteria
To qualify for authorship, each individual must meet all four of the following criteria:
- Make substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Draft the manuscript or critically revise it for important intellectual content.
- Approve the final version of the manuscript to be published.
- Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All individuals listed as authors must meet all four criteria. Individuals who do not meet these criteria may be acknowledged for their contributions, with their permission, but should not be listed as authors.
2. Author Contributions
JIKA encourages transparency in reporting the individual contributions of all authors. Beginning with the December 2026 issue, authors will be required to provide an author contribution statement in accordance with the journal's updated manuscript template.
The contribution statement should accurately describe each author's role in the research and manuscript preparation. Authors may use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) where applicable, including conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing—original draft, writing—review and editing, supervision, and project administration.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the contribution statement is accurate and approved by all co-authors.
3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between JIKA and all co-authors during submission, peer review, revision, and publication. The corresponding author must ensure that all authors meet the authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, agree to the authorship order, and disclose relevant conflicts of interest and funding information.
4. Changes in Authorship
Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be justified in writing and approved by all authors concerned. Requests for changes must be submitted to the editorial office and are subject to editorial review.
5. Unacceptable Authorship Practices
JIKA does not permit gift, honorary, guest, or ghost authorship. All authorship information and contribution statements must accurately reflect the actual contributions of the individuals involved.
6. Acknowledgments
Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria may be acknowledged, with their permission. Such contributions may include technical assistance, language editing, or administrative support.
7. Publication Ethics
All authors are expected to uphold research integrity, transparency, and responsible publication practices. Suspected authorship misconduct will be handled in accordance with JIKA's publication ethics policies and relevant guidance from recognized publication ethics organizations.
