Authors are prohibited from withdrawing submitted manuscripts, as such actions squander the valuable resources and time that editors and referees have dedicated to processing the manuscript, as well as the financial and labor investments made by the publisher.

Article Retraction

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record for all readers and authors. Modifications to articles post-publication online are permissible only under specific, extraordinary conditions. Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) highly values the authority of published articles, adhering closely to the best practices of the academic publishing community.

A retraction serves to inform the scientific community about unreliable results or ethical misconduct, following a formal investigation by the editorial team of Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA). The primary aim of a retraction is to amend the literature and uphold academic integrity, rather than to penalize individuals.

A retraction may be warranted under the following conditions:

  • There is definitive evidence that the findings are unreliable, whether due to scientific misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification) or honest errors (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error).

  • Instances of multiple submissions, duplicate publication, or redundant publication without proper cross-referencing or permission.

  • Clear evidence of plagiarism in the manuscript.

  • Evidence of fraudulent authorship, unauthorized data usage, or unethical research practices.

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) follows the retraction guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

When a decision to retract an article is made, Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) will:

  • Apply a visible "RETRACTED" watermark to the PDF of the published Version of Record.

  • Issue a separate formal retraction statement, titled ‘Retraction: (Article Title), which will be bi-directionally linked to the retracted article.

  • Paginate and publish the retraction statement in the current online issue of the journal.
