Repository & Self-Archiving Policy
Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) supports and encourages authors to share, deposit, and self-archive their scholarly work in institutional, subject-based, and public repositories. This policy is intended to facilitate wider dissemination, accessibility, visibility, and long-term preservation of articles published in Jurnal AKG.
JIKA permits authors to deposit different versions of their manuscripts in repositories of their choice, subject to the conditions described in this policy.
JIKA applies a Green Open Access self-archiving policy with no embargo period, allowing authors to make their submitted, accepted, and published versions available through appropriate repositories.

SELF-ARCHIVING POLICY
JIKA ecognizes the importance of scholarly communication and supports responsible self-archiving practices by authors.
Authors are permitted to deposit their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject repositories, public repositories, or other appropriate academic platforms. Self-archiving may be undertaken at different stages of the publication process, provided that the deposited manuscript appropriately acknowledges the original publication in JIKA.
There is no embargo period for the versions permitted under this policy.
Authors are encouraged to provide a link to the official JIKA article page and/or DOI of the published article whenever the DOI is available.
SHARING AND DEPOSIT OF ARTICLE VERSIONS
Jurnal JIKA permits authors to deposit the following three versions of their manuscripts:
1. Submitted Version
✓ PERMITTED · No Embargo
The Submitted Version, also known as the preprint or submitted manuscript, is the version of the manuscript originally submitted by the author to JIKA before the peer-review and editorial process has been completed.
Authors may deposit this version in an institutional repository, subject repository, public repository, or other appropriate academic repository.
Permitted locations include:
- Institutional Repository
- Subject Repository
- Public Repository
- Author's Homepage
- Academic Profile
Embargo: No embargo
Condition: Authors should acknowledge that the manuscript was submitted to JIKA and, once the article has been published, should provide a link to the final published article whenever possible.
2. Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM)
✓ PERMITTED · No Embargo
The Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM) is the version of the manuscript that has undergone peer review and has been accepted for publication by Jurnal JIKA after the required revisions have been completed.
This version does not include the final journal layout, typesetting, pagination, or other final production elements applied by the journal.
Authors may deposit the AAM immediately after acceptance, without an embargo period.

Embargo: No embargo
Condition: The deposited manuscript should acknowledge JIKA as the journal of publication and should include the DOI or link to the final published article once available.
3. Published Version of Record (VoR)
✓ PERMITTED · No Embargo
The Published Version of Record (VoR) is the final version of the article officially published by JIKA. This version contains the final journal formatting and bibliographic information and represents the official published record of the article.
Authors are permitted to deposit the Published Version of Record in appropriate repositories without an embargo period, subject to the applicable license and attribution requirements.

- Institutional Repository

- Public Repository
- Author's Homepage
- Journal Website
Embargo: No embargo
Condition: The deposited Published Version of Record must retain the appropriate bibliographic information and acknowledge JIKA as the original source of publication. The DOI and/or official article link should be included whenever available.
CONDITIONS OF DEPOSIT
Authors who deposit any version of a Jurnal JIKA article are requested to comply with the following conditions.
1. Include the DOI or Official Article Link
Authors should include the DOI of the published article in the repository record whenever a DOI has been assigned.
If a DOI is not available, authors should provide a direct link to the article on the official JIKA website.
This helps readers locate the official version of the published article and supports accurate citation and attribution.
2. Acknowledge Jurnal JIKA as the Source Journal
All deposited versions should clearly identify Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA) as the journal in which the article was submitted, accepted, or published, as applicable.
For the Published Version of Record, authors should provide the complete bibliographic citation, including:
- Author(s)
- Article title
- JIKA
- Volume
- Issue
- Publication year
- Page or article number, where applicable
- DOI, where available
3. CC BY 4.0 License Statement
For articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, the applicable license statement should remain associated with the deposited article.
The CC BY 4.0 license permits users to share and adapt the work provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
Authors should not remove the original copyright, attribution, or licensing information from the published version.
4. No Embargo Period
JIKA does not impose an embargo period on the versions permitted for self-archiving under this policy.
Authors may therefore deposit the permitted manuscript version without waiting for a specified period after submission, acceptance, or publication.
5. Link Preprints to the Final Article
When a Submitted Version has been deposited before publication, authors are encouraged to update the repository record after publication.
The updated record should include the DOI and/or link to the final article published by JIKA.
This practice helps readers distinguish the submitted manuscript from the peer-reviewed and published version.
6. Maintain the Integrity of the Published Record
Authors should ensure that repository copies do not create confusion regarding which version represents the official publication.
For the Published Version of Record, the original journal citation, DOI, journal name, and other relevant bibliographic information should be retained.
RECOMMENDED REPOSITORIES
Authors may deposit permitted manuscript versions in appropriate academic repositories, including:
Institutional Repository
Authors are encouraged to deposit their manuscripts in the institutional repository of their university, research institution, hospital, or other affiliated organization, where applicable.
Subject Repository
Authors may use subject-specific repositories relevant to Medical and Clinical Sciences, Public Health and Epidemiology, Nursing and Nursing Management, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Maternal and Reproductive Health, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Health Services and Health Systems, Community-Based Health, Emerging and Interdisciplinary Health Research, and related fields.
Public Repository
Authors may use appropriate public repositories that support the preservation and dissemination of scholarly publications.
GARUDA
GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) serves as an important national scholarly platform for Indonesian research publications.
JIKA deposits its published articles in the GARUDA repository.
Authors may also use institutional or other appropriate repositories in addition to the journal's deposit in GARUDA.
JOURNAL DEPOSIT IN GARUDA
All published articles of JIKA are deposited in the GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) repository.
This deposit supports:
- Wider accessibility of published articles
- National dissemination of scholarly publications
- Long-term accessibility of journal content
- Increased visibility of authors and articles
- Integration with Indonesia's scholarly information ecosystem
The official published article remains available through the JIKA website.

For clarity, JIKA defines the permitted manuscript versions as follows:
AUTHOR RIGHTS
Under this policy, authors retain the right to make permitted versions of their work available through appropriate repositories, subject to the journal's licensing and attribution requirements.
Authors may use self-archiving to:
- Increase the visibility of their research;
- Facilitate access to their scholarly work;
- Share their research with academic communities;
- Preserve their work through institutional or public repositories;
- Provide access to their work through appropriate academic platforms.
Self-archiving does not replace the official publication record maintained by JIKA.
CITATION OF DEPOSITED ARTICLES
When a deposited version has subsequently been published in JIKA, authors and repository managers are encouraged to provide the citation of the final published article.
The recommended format is:
Author(s). (Year). Title of Article. Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan (JIKA), Volume(Issue), page/article number. DOI.
Where applicable, the repository record should link directly to the official article page on the JIKA website.
