AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR JURNAL KEPERAWATAN PROFESIONAL (KEPO)

Jurnal Keperawatan Profesional (KEPO) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Research and Community Service Unit (LPPM) of Akper Yapenas 21 Maros, which has now transitioned to Sarana Ilmu Indonesia (salnesia). The journal focuses on health issues across preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative domains. KEPO accepts original research articles (main priority), case study articles, and recent literature reviews (non-preferred). KEPO is published twice a year (May and November) utilizing a peer-review and editorial selection process. Manuscripts received by the editorial board undergo validity screening by peer reviewers, followed by selection and editing by the editorial team.

ARTICLE CRITERIA

  1. Original Research: Original research findings related to Health Sciences, including: clinical and medical research, nutrition and public health research, midwifery management research, and nursing management research. The manuscript format consists of title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), abstract, and main text (introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusions (suggestions), and references).

  2. Case Studies: Articles presenting interesting and beneficial clinical cases for readers in the health sector.

  3. Recent Literature Reviews (Non-Preferred): Review articles or critical overviews of a health-related phenomenon or science, written by considering actual relevance and benefit to readers.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

  1. Jurnal KEPO only publishes original work that has not been previously published in any other journal.

  2. Manuscripts must be written in proper, clear, straightforward, and concise Indonesian or English.

  3. Manuscripts must be typed using Times New Roman font: 11 pt for the Abstract and 12 pt for the main text (from Introduction to References). Formatting requirements:

    • Format: Softcopy in .doc or .docx extension.

    • Paper Size: A4.

    • Margins: Top = 2 cm, Bottom = 2 cm, Right = 2 cm, Left = 3 cm.

    • Text Alignment: Justified (left-right).

    • Tables & Figures: Adjusted to fit the column width.

    • Minimum Page Count: At least 5 pages.

  4. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the Online Journal System 3 (OJS3) available on the KEPO submission page at the following link:

  5. For uniformity, Original Research Manuscripts must follow this structure:

    • Title (in Indonesian and English).

    • Author Name(s) and Institution/Affiliation (in Indonesian).

    • Abstract (in Indonesian and English).

    • Keywords.

    • Correspondence E-mail Address.

    • Main Text:

      • Introduction

      • Methods

      • Results

      • Discussion

      • Conclusions and Suggestions

      • Conflict of Interest (if applicable)

      • Acknowledgements

      • References

  6. For uniformity, Case Study Manuscripts must follow this structure:

    • Title (in Indonesian and English).

  7. For uniformity, Recent Literature Review Manuscripts must follow this structure:

    • Title (in Indonesian and English).

    • Author Name(s) and Institution/Affiliation (in Indonesian).

    • Abstract (in Indonesian and English).

    • Keywords.

    • Correspondence E-mail Address.

    • Main Text:

      • Introduction (including case illustration)

      • Methods (specifically for evidence-based case reports)

      • Results

      • Discussion

      • Conclusions and Suggestions

      • Conflict of Interest (if applicable)

      • Acknowledgements

      • References

  8. Title Formatting:

    • Indonesian Title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, Bold, Uppercase, Inverted Pyramid format (can include a subtitle if necessary).

    • English Title: Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold, Italic (can include a subtitle if necessary).

  9. Authorship & Affiliation:

    • Maximum of six (6) authors. If more than six, use "dkk" or "et al." after the sixth author.

    • Author names must include department/study program, institution, city, and country of origin.

    • The corresponding author's email address must be explicitly provided.

    • Font style for author details: Times New Roman, 11 pt, Bold, Capitalize Each Word.

  10. Abstract: Must be written in both English and Indonesian. Length must not exceed 250 words and placed directly below the title and author names.

  11. Keywords: Provided in both English and Indonesian, placed directly below the abstract. Minimum 3 words and maximum 6 words (preferably avoiding simple repetition of words used in the title).

  12. References & In-Text Citations:

    • In-text citations should use "et al." if there are more than two authors. However, all author names must be listed in the full reference list.

    • References must be formatted according to the Elsevier-Harvard (with titles) style and arranged alphabetically using reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.

    • The reference section must contain only sources that are directly cited within the manuscript.
